Well, I could get used to this…I woke up this morning to an email sitting in my inbox, and one that was an awesome read. Way, back…way, way, way back in Feburary I wrote a spicy paranormal novella and subbed it to Ellora’s Cave. I heard back very quickly, and was told that it had been passed up to an acquiring editor.
This was the first positive action I’d received in my bid to get published and I was pumped. I was sure I’d get an email from Elllora’s saying that they wanted my story.
A few weeks, turned into a few months and before I knew it I had subbed two more shorts and still now word. The day before I left for Nationals in SanFrancisco, I got two rejections for the last two shorts I’d subbed. But, still no word on the first. I honestly thought they’d lost it, or it was R’d, but I hadn’t recieved the email.
Then a couple days after finding out about my Avon sale I recieved an email from an editor at Ellora’s Cave requesting the ms be forwarded to her. I was surprised, but forwarded the story and this morning got an email with an offer to contract the story. Wow. What a crazy last few weeks…They say everything comes in threes, so I’m anxiously awaiting some more? Please? I love this!
Blind Awakening will be an Ellora’s Cave release sometime in the near future!

Just had to come back and say congrats again. What a fantastic bit of news! I can’t wait to read your books. I’ve never read paranormal romance (I’d barely read mills and boon till a year ago) but I am going to make sure I buy your books.
I’m like you and I’m not keen on traditional Presents, I liked Modern Heat but I think they’re moving very much to Presents type scenarios and men – which is why I’m not sure I want to write there any more. I did enter the Feel the Heat contest but I did it a week before I got the R back and before I realised my men weren’t alpha enough. So I don’t think I’ll be placed in the contest, but maybe that’s not the end of the world, it just means I have chance to follow up on the single title I’ve been too scared to finish.
Once again Jules, congratulations although it sounds like you work really hard (and enjoy it) so you deserve it. I hope the book deals keep rolling in for you, hon!

Hey Clarisa, nice to hear from you again…it’s so cool that I’m able to converse with people from all over the globe…the editor I’ll be workig with at Ellora’s Cave, actually lives in Melbourne, Australia…how cool is that?
So, you should be hearing back on your Modern heat soon, correct? My friend entered and is waiting anxiously….I’ll cross all my appendages for you! You’ve got the writing chops Clarissa, a requested full tells me that…and once you figure out where your voice fits….you’ll be amazed at how fast things can happen…have you targeted the tender romance line? Sounds like that might be a great way for you to go….

Well, sad to say but my sale to Ellora’s Cave was a little premature…I had to decline their contract offer as we couldnt’ come to an agreement over certain key issues….so, Blind Awakening will have to go back into the vault!
