Hey, I’ve already celebrated Thanksgiving. Here in Canada it’s held in the beginning of October. I love it…the turkey, the fixings, family and fall fairs.
But, this weekend my American friends are giving thanks. Got me to thinking about all the things that I’m grateful for. So I decided to make a list.
1.My family. My parents are simply the greatest in the world…my siblings are wonderful, and my husband and children fill my life with joy, excitement and yeah at times stress…but they are worth it!
2.My health. I’m healthy and so is everyone in my family. A good friend of mine just recently lost her father to cancer. I’m lucky…my parents are as healthy as I am.
3.My friends. I have, undoubtedly the best girlfriends in the world. In no particular order, Terre, Crystal, shelli, Michele, the sliders, Doina, Gina, Tracey. You are all wonderful and even though I don’t see some of you as much as I like…you’re always in my thoughts.
4.I get to write a book! I’m so happy that I had a goal, went for it…and viola….I’ve not only being given the opportunity to write, I’ve been embraced by the bradford babes, have a wonderful agent and editor who are wholly supportive and have met an entire online pack of friends.
5. My dog Shelby. Just because she’s the cutest most gentlest animal on the planet.
6. Grays anatomy, Supernatural, Law and Order, Heroes and True Blood.
So that’s my list…..and as far as this coming weekend….my band is playing at a fundraiser in a neighboring town. It’s to raise money in memory of a young girl who earlier this year lost her life to cancer. I hope we can raise a ton of cash in her name, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to have the chance to help out.
I hope everyone has a great weekend whatever you are doing, and that life finds you happy, healthy and productive.

Jules,
I also have a alot to be thankful for -in addition to Supernatural, etc (I’m with ya there girl!)…
Healthy kids – I mean Jonathan started taking growth hormones in September but although he is small, he is proportional, and healthy and cognitively exactly as he should be. I can handle that. NO biggie compared to what it could be, right?
My health, my parents, my whole family, my friends. I have a warm home filled with love and food on the table. I have friends, a God that loves me, a job (that I hope turns into a permanent one!)
My aunt (step-aunt) is in her last few days with her battle with pancreatic cancer. She lives 3000 miles away. She and my uncle adopted 2 boys from Guatemala a few years ago – one that needed extensive brain surgery ( and is doing just fine now). They are the epitome of the "all boy" syndrome. Full of extra energy, happy smiles, and sometimes mischief! Both of the boys turned 5 this november. Precious children about to lose their mommy. I just want to squeeze them tight and tell them it will be okay.
I’m thankful my kids are healthy, I’m healthy, and I’m not having to tell them goodbye.
I’m thankful for the goodness of people like you – helping to raise money in memory of a girl who died from cancer- and the people helping my aunt and uncle and people like them faced with unbelievable awful situations. Their community has rallied around them, selling specialty chocolate to raise money, set up a trust fund for the boys, help with the boys (to get them out and about and expend some energy). Now I;ve blithered and blathered and dripped tears on my keyboard! ….
Have a happy and safe weekend everyone!

I think we all have a lot to be thankful for…lord knows I constantly tell myself when I’m down about something that there is always someone worse off than me….
