Saturday Blah and Blatherings
Saturday, January 24th, 2009

Well it’s Saturday. Sunny which is good, but once again artic cold here in Canada. Do I care? NO! I am leaving for the Mayan Riviera in three weeks people! Yikes…good job I joined boot camp two weeks ago, although I don’t know if five weeks is long enough to firm and tighten the butt!

So other than the fact that I’ve been online for days trying to find the perfect spot for my family to vacation, I’ve got not much to report.

My lovely editor Esi Sogah was able to spend the week in Washington when history was made and I’m so happy for her. On that note, I should hear back soon in regards to my ms. It’s the first thing she’s getting to this week and I’m crossing my fingers that my revisions are good enough.

In other news, my agent has given the green light for my YA proposal so now I’m very happy to dive in and finish writing that sucker so she can sell it. Well, I hope she can sell it. We shall see!

She also told me that my very first pay cheque as a writer is in the mail. A cheque. For money. Holy crap, I still can’t believe that someone is paying me to write a book! Ack! With my name on it! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! Anyway, when it get’s here I”m going to have it copied and I will frame that sucker…..the copy!

I’m also looking at Nationals in DC and plan to register this week. Can’t wait for that and it’s looking like a good number of the bradford chicks are gonna be there! and my fellow sirens too!

So, that’s about it. Working on my YA and waiting for the verdict on my revisions.
So, what’s up with everyone else? any vacations? what books are you working on? and who’s going to Nationals?

The Winds of Change
Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

I just want to give a shout out to all my American friends on this historic day. Wow. With all the doom and gloom lately, it’s so incredibly nice to feel such a ray of hope.
Today you’ve made your choice, and Barak Obama will become your new president. It’s time. God Bless America.

I Sorta Hate Mondays.
Monday, January 12th, 2009

Yes it’s true. I have a love/hate relationship with this particular day. Hate it because I’m ususally whipped and tired after having a weekend that was way too busy. Hate the fact that I usually have laundry coming out the cachenga. Hate that I also have no food in the house. Love the fact that I don’t have to drag my ass out of bed and go to a regular day job. Love that I can work in my pajamas all day (well, technically I can to that any day of the week, but usually it seems to be a Monday thing) Love the moment the kids are gone to school and hubby’s gone too….the silence. It’s golden.
And so..
It’s the start of a fresh shiny week. Are you pumped? Does everyone have goals for what they want to accomplish in this coming week? I do. I need them. Desperately.

This is what I want to accomplish.
-email web dude about a few things I need changed and ask a few questions that need asking.
-get a certain amount of work done for the husband before he fires me.
-take the dog for a walk at least three times, which considering it’s going to be freaking cold….we’ll see.
-try not to think about boot camp coming up on Thursday.
-write my blog for The Bradford Bunch before it’s due Wednesday….so like tonight or tomorrow.
-try not to stress too much about the proposal I sent to Laura last week
-try to get 15k done on the novella I’m working on

Guess that’s about it…not a bad list….and I think I can get her done!

so, what does everyone have on their plates for the coming week? anything pressing? and what do you most love or hate about Mondays?

I’m excited!
Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

There are two reasons for my euphoria this morning. And they couldn’t have happened at a better time cause I’m telling ya, I’m feeling just plain yucky after the holidays. Still. And they’ve been over for a while…it’s just all the excess and over indulgence…takes three times as long to fade away…If it does at all! (Boot camp should take care of that…in a scary and painful way, but it will be worth it)
First off I came across this article on a Yahoo entertainment loop and well, it’s both excited and troubling…I love me some Sam and Dean and while I can’t picture a third brother…..if he looks like his daddy(Jeffrey Dean Morgan, or Denny Duquette from Grays) then I’ll be one happy camper….love this show!

Madison in Eugene, Ore.: What’s the latest on Jared and Jensen on
Supernatural?

Let’s just say that if you happen to look like these dreamy dudes
above (and God bless you for it), you should contact the CW right
away, because I’m hearing that yes, you guessed it! There just might
be a third freaking Winchester brother out there. Hear that? It’s the
sound of my mind exploding! I’m told that the possible third brother
has not been cast, but we’ll start hearing rumblings of another son
courtesy of Dean and Sam’s father John Winchester, aka Jeffrey Dean
Morgan, this season. Seriously, does that dead dude get around or
what?! Meanwhile, I’m dying to know what you think of this twist and
if anyone out there could possibly be delicious enough to pull off the
same genetic code as Jensen and Jared. So please comment below, and if
you have any casting suggestions, bring ‘em!

And secondly….was cleaning a bunch of crap off my computer and found a file with ideas and scenes….found one opening scene that totally rocks ( can I praise myself? or is that too, vain?) dunno…but seriously, it rocks and I’m so pumped to folllow the story along….There’s a call out to Samhain for shifter stories for an antho and this will be perfect…

So my question is….what has you excited? and am I the only one that writes stuff and then totally forgets about it? Am I getting old? senile? shit…don’t answer that!

Happy New Year!
Friday, January 2nd, 2009

I hope you all had a great holiday season…I know I did….but truthfully? I’m glad it’s over. So over! I ate too much, drank way too much beer and wine and rye…I’m bloated and cranky….and I haven’t written much at all. So um, yeah me!

I am looking forward to the next year and all the possibilities that it brings….it’s kind of neat when you know there are no peramiters really….just an open canvas to attack! I hope the coming year brings all of my writer friends new sales, new agents and success in all their endeavors!

And a bonus for me…..I’ve been asked to be a regular contributor to The Bradford Bunch blog, which is a blog run by ten of Laura Bradford’s authors. (she’s our agent)….I was very excited to be asked and will be blogging every other Wednesday starting Jan. 14th. How cool is that?

Onwards and upwards I say…..so how is everyone faring after the holidays? And what are you looking forward to most? for me? Getting back to a normal routine will be a blessing…I love my kiddies…but I love them in school way more!!!!
