Happy Hump Day
Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

Hey all, been quite neglectful of my blog as of late but well, summer is here and I’ve been one busy ladeeeeee!

After returning from Nationals my baby bro got hitched and I had four days to recover, get organized and then we headed up north to a cottage ofr a week of fun in the sun, um, I mean rain!

It rained for four days but the kids didn’t mind and the back end of our vacation was quite bright! I spent time with the family, my bestie girlfriends, Terre, Crystal and Tammy, our hubbies, kids and yes, we took our dog too!

I did however have copy edits arrive the day before we left so I had to be focused and work on them as well as my ms, which I can say is an inch away from completion. And that, feels good!

Not sure if I shared before but my lovely editor Esi sent me a peek at my cover and well, I’m in love. It’s beautiful. As soon as I get the go ahead I’ll post it, but until then, it’s my secret little pleasure to peruse every time I walk by my laptop. It’s set as the background and well, I dont’ know if it’s newbie stuff or what but I love it!

I also worked on the back cover copy of my book and I have to say, it rocks. A huge shout out to Lauren Hawkeye and my agent Laura Bradford for their input. The final version was a combinaiton of all our efforts!

So, now I’m staring down the barrel of finishing my second book and looking ahead to the future. What are my goals? Well, I’m hoping the opiton I write will knock my editors socks off and I’ll snag another contract with Avon before the year is out. I also hope my agent loves the new version of my YA cause I really want to finish writing it and have something else out on sub.

simple, no? haha, I wish…..Looking forward to working on edits for my Samhain release……and knocking around a host of ideas in my head…..what about you guys? What’s everyones goals for 2009 and then 2010?

    Weee! Can’t wait to see the cover!

    I’m thinking of submitting something to Avon. (bites nails) I sent them an e-mail requesting the guidelines and am just waiting to hear back to make sure my ms fits.

    For this coming year, my goal is to get a book in Indigo Bookstore, my second home. I already have a sub out with Harlequin so if they say yes then that would accomplish the goal but I’m submitting other stuff too so…keeping my fingers, toes and eyes crossed.

    Hey Jules! Sounds like you had a fun week away. Can’t wait to see your cover (hope you can post it by the time our Sept. blog interview rolls around) and to hear more about your Samhain release and all the other good things headed your way.

    Well, my goals are pretty simple. I have 2 things on submission right now – a Blaze proposal and an erotic short – and I want to increase that number. I have several projects I want to get finished by the end of the year, along with the Blaze I intend to do for NaNo. I’ll be busy, but I’m determined to make it count. ;)

    @Nancy
    wow good luck with your Harlequin sub and well, I do have a fond spot for Avon! what type of book are you targeting Nancy? I might be able to suggest an editor if you’re subbing directly that way. I’m not sure how thier subs go, to a general address or what…..

    Hey Cari! wow you sound busy. Is this the blaze you sent to Brenda Chin? where is your erotic short going to?

    And yes, I hope to get the all clear in the next month or so…it’s hard not being able to share the cover, cause it’s so freaking pretty!
