Release Week Update
Friday, April 2nd, 2010

whew, it’s over. The moment I’d been looking forward to for like, ever, it seems is over. His Darkest Hunger released on Tuesday and the whole thing still kinda seems like a blur to me. Seriously. We had a book launch here where I live and Nicole did an amazing job! We sold a lot of books and there was even, ahem, a lineup for me to sign for almost an hour! Weeeeeeeeee! It was very cool!

I will post some pics in a bit! I just want to say a huge thank you to all your well wishes, and to those who’ve participated in the contest. I am sending the info out this week to the authors who donated books, so they can mail out the winners prizes!

Again, you guys all rock!

I just thought I’d let you know how agency pricing is impacting your sales. I usually buy 50 books a month, most in urban fantasy, sci-fi and romance genres. I’ve bought none since the prices on e-books at barnes and noble for my nook have gone up more than 25-45%. My 10% off card which I paid for just so that I could obtain discounted e-books no longer works for e-books from your (and apparently several other publishers). I am sorry to say I will not be purchasing this book unless the price becomes reasonable. It is not reasonable to pay a higher price for the e-book than for what I could get the paperback at and I vowed that I would not buy any paperbacks once I got the nook (which apparently leaves me with the libarary!). I know you have no power alone but your voice is one of many, and if many voices get together they can have an impact. I am not the only reader who feels this way..who feels betrayed by publishers and authors who appear to care little about their customers and in the case of authors; their loyal fan base.

Hi Morgan. Yes this situation is very frustrating, but please know, authors care GREATLY about their readers…I’m new at this and totally get where you’re coming from. I hope it’s resolved soon.
