A new week people
Monday, May 31st, 2010

Hey all….yes indeed it’s Monday the start of the new week and for me, the start of a new book. I love that feeling you get when you open a fresh word document. There are no boundaries, your mind can wander freely and you get to record whatever the hell your imagination comes up with!

So this morning I started Declan’s Book. Now, I’m a total pantser at heart and for a few scary moments I stared at the blank docmument and didn’t know what the hell I was gonna write. I’m very much a visual writer. I see the scenes and then write what’s in my head.

I have an idea where I’m heading with this book. In fact there’s a whole new story arc for the next several…but still, it has to start out right or I can’t move forward.

I can happily say I wrote….and am happy with the first few pages. I’m so excited to write Declan’s story and can’t wait to keep at it. That is the joy of being a writer.

So, that’s on my agenda….book four…..what’s everyone else up to?

What cha reading?
Saturday, May 29th, 2010

Happy Saturday everyone! Here in the land of Canuk the sun is shining, the pool is sparkling and after I’m done cleaning I will be reading a book. For reals. I haven’t had much time to read lately, been on a deadline for months and have another one looming, but I’ve got several books calling my name that need to be read! I thought I’d share my recent reads and what’s coming up

In the last couple of months I’ve finished the following:

Sugar Daddy and Smooth Talking Stranger by Lisa Kleypas

Dark Curse, Christine Feehan

Mistress by Mistake, Maggie Robinson

Dead Tossed Waves, Carrie Ryan

Beautiful Creatures, Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

On my current TBR pile:

The Duke and I & On the Way to the Wedding, Julia Quinn

First drop Of Crimson, Jeaniene Frost

Burning wild, Christine Feehan

Catching Fire, Suzanne Collins

So, any book reccomends? I’m thinking I should try the parasol protectorate series by Gail Carriger….anything else? What you all reading and reccomend?

and now for your viewing pleasure…I didn’t watch American Idol at all this year. No one really grabbed me, not like my lovely Adam from the year before….but as I was channel surfing on that last night I saw this….and loved it….. (Update: The video has been removed from YouTube).

Brenda Novak Diabetes Auction
Saturday, May 1st, 2010

The wonderful and amazing Brenda Novak has spearheaded an online auction for several years in order to raise funds for Diabetes research. It’s an amazing cause and one I support 200%. One of my closest friends has had jeuvenile diabetes since the age of 10 and I’ve seen how difficult this can be. It’s a life filled with constant calculations, diet choice, excercise, insulin. Bottom line, my friends pancreas stopped making insulin when she was 10. If she doesn’t take insulin shots every day, she will die.

Scary eh?

So Brenda’s cause is huge and anything we can do as indiduals is a wonderful thing. You need to check out her auction and if something takes your fancy, BID on it! There are a ton of items up for bid this year for authors and readers alike.

Visit the online auction HERE and do it when you have time to look around cause there’s so much to see!

I’ve donated a few items along with my critique partners, The Sirens and Scribes. You can view our item HERE There are many awesome donations in this category so have a look!

Avon, my publishers, has also donated an item, BITTEN BY THE PARANORMAL BUG and they’ve donated 13 books, including HIS DARKEST HUNGER, you can view this item HERE

So, have at it and do your part to support this wonderful auction!
