What cha reading?
Saturday, May 29th, 2010

Happy Saturday everyone! Here in the land of Canuk the sun is shining, the pool is sparkling and after I’m done cleaning I will be reading a book. For reals. I haven’t had much time to read lately, been on a deadline for months and have another one looming, but I’ve got several books calling my name that need to be read! I thought I’d share my recent reads and what’s coming up

In the last couple of months I’ve finished the following:

Sugar Daddy and Smooth Talking Stranger by Lisa Kleypas

Dark Curse, Christine Feehan

Mistress by Mistake, Maggie Robinson

Dead Tossed Waves, Carrie Ryan

Beautiful Creatures, Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

On my current TBR pile:

The Duke and I & On the Way to the Wedding, Julia Quinn

First drop Of Crimson, Jeaniene Frost

Burning wild, Christine Feehan

Catching Fire, Suzanne Collins

So, any book reccomends? I’m thinking I should try the parasol protectorate series by Gail Carriger….anything else? What you all reading and reccomend?

and now for your viewing pleasure…I didn’t watch American Idol at all this year. No one really grabbed me, not like my lovely Adam from the year before….but as I was channel surfing on that last night I saw this….and loved it….. (Update: The video has been removed from YouTube).

Catching Fire and First Drop of Crimson were good! Catching Fire was a 5 star read for me. I’m obsessed with that trilogy.

Books I finished recently and loved are Brightly Woven by Alexandra Bracken and Master of None by Sonya Bateman. I’m currently reading A Spy in the House by Y.S Lee and listening to Spells by Aprilynne Pike.

I just finished Dead and Gone by Charlaine Harris, love the Sookie Stackhouse series. Yes, you should read Gail Carriger’s series, both books so far have been fantastic. If you like the steampunk elements in that series, Katie MacAlister has a lovely steampunk romance called, appropriately enough, Steamed. And right now I’m reading Courtney Milan’s Proof by Seduction and loving it.

I haven’t started it yet, but The Darkly Luminous Fight for Persephone Parker (on sale ebook @B&N) and The Strangely Beautiful Tale of Miss Percy Parker (free ebook @B&N) have both been recommended to me highly. Maybe you’d enjoy too! :)

Melissa those have been on my radar too! My son read Catching Fire and The Hunger games in the span of a week. He usually only reads music mags so I knew there was something special about the books…

I read the first Gail Carriger book—will start the 2nd soon—and *loved* it. And I’ve got Dead Tossed Waves in my TBR pile too.

Jenn, it seriously rocks…I wish I was a big time author that could quote the crap out of it, but I may be able to pass along later to some bigger types!
