All right. Yesterday as I was writing, I realized that I needed some visual aid. A little inspirations so to speak, so I downloaded pics of what I visualize my characters to look like in my latest jaguar book. And here they are for your viewing pleasure! What do you all think?

All right, there you have it! My cast of characters!
It’s a beautiful day in the neighbourhood for sure. The sun is shining, it’s warm, the pool is crystal clear. I have a mountain of office work to catch up on and several things to attack in the writing world. If I’m very good and get to everything on my to do list, then I can maybe float a bit this aft and get some colour on my pasty legs. Nationals is coming up ya know and I’d like to be able to wear shorts in public!
So, Tuesday Roll Call:
-Book One, His Darkest Hunger: Waiting on cover news, most likely nothing for several weeks. With the copy editor now so I’m assuming I’ll be getting copy edits in the next little while.
-Book Two, His Darkest Craving: chugging along on this one. I am aiming to finish in three weeks. I’m at the part where things really are picking up. Action, suspense, danger, all of it. I tend to write faster when the shit hits the fan so I’m pretty confident I’ll get it done.
-Ravyn’s Fall, YA- Am working out how to chop the first half of the book off and re do. While not fun, I’m looking forward to it.
-Waiting on edits for short contracted to Samhain and tooling around with an idea for the space opera…..but, I’d need to get my butt in gear if I’m gonna submit something to that.
-In the middle of judging several entries in the Toronto Romance Writers contest.
-Nationals in three weeks. Trying to work out a little bit so I can fit into new dress bought for the Rita’s.
so, this is about it. The kids are done school on Friday…so I need to get crack a lacking…..what is everyone else up to? list your roll call so I don’t feel so alone!

Welcome to another addition of Saturday Snippet. Today’s theme is Seduciton fail. You know the one, where the hero and heroine come together amidst the crush of both external and internal conflict and then the building explodes, or…..um, I think you get my drift!
This week I’ve included an excerpt from my first Jaguar Warrior Book, His Darkest Hunger. In this particular scene, Jaxon and Libby are each drawn to each other, even though he doesn’t trust her and sadly, she can’t remember why. They only know their attraction transcends these things, but alas…this is SEDUCTION FAIL! Please remember to visit the blogs of the other authors participating, the links are at the bottom of this excerpt.
He smiled wickedly as he once more lowered his head. His mouth was watering in anticipation and as he slowly flicked his tongue across the dusky pink of her nipples, her hands found their way into the thickness of the hair on his head, and she pulled him into her.
“Oh my god, that feels so good,” she gasped.
He smiled against the soft flesh and then opened wide, bringing his heated tongue to swirl around the buds that begged to be kissed. Slowly he teased, caressed and when her whimpers were becoming hoarse and the pressure from her hands was getting hard, he took one of the tips deep into his mouth and suckled hard.
She tasted like candy and he felt her stiffen as he savored the sweetness and gently caressed her other breast. They had always been beautiful, perfect and feminine but today, they were like gifts from the gods and he suckled hungrily.
Her hands began to make their way down past his shoulders and Jaxon shuddered at the feel of her tentative caresses. They felt unsure, virginal and that nearly drove him to the brink.
His skin was burning up and he felt the beast scratching at him. Begging him to take what was his. Mark her with his brand.
He tore his mouth from her breasts, trailing a path of fire down, his hands grabbing the waistbands of her jeans. He would have ripped them, but her hips were so slim they slid down with no effort at all.
The scent of her arousal was heavy in the air and Jaxon felt close to losing control. He leaned back onto his haunches, breathing in deeply, trying to maintain a bit of calm, his eyes taking in every single inch of her beautiful body.
Her long hair was wild about her face, half covering her eyes as they trailed in long tendrils over her panting mouth and down towards her heaving breasts. Downwards his eyes wandered, past the ribs that were a little to noticeable for his liking, to the flat belly and the neat patch of blond that harbored her greatest treasure. His heart ached at the beauty before him, and it took a few moments until he realized there was a flaw to her, one that hadn’t been there before.
The long thin white scar seemed to mock him as it sat low on her abdomen. The anger that rushed through him was instant and cold. It felt as if he’d been punched in the gut. The scar represented a whole host of things that he wasn’t ready to deal with. And as his desire fled the questions that had been burning in his mind since the night before, could no longer be denied. Had she had a baby? And if so, who the hell was the father? Had she loved another the way she’d loved him?
Images and memories clouded his mind, and his hot flesh cooled as a rush of emptiness threatened to overwhelm him. It sat heavy and unwanted deep in his chest. He felt betrayed and as his eyes skimmed the scar once more, he couldn’t help but wonder if she’d screwed the bastards who had ultimately screwed him over.
He pushed away violently and was ten yards away before he could speak. He’d been so close to losing himself in her. Again. Something he had promised himself he would never do.
“You need to go back to the cabin.”
Libby sat up, trying to hide her nakedness and she sounded more confused then ever. “Jaxon, I don’t understand.”
Her voice broke on a sob and he fought the savage need to take her. To punish her. To pound his body into hers and hope for some sense of relief from the darkness that had stalked him for the last three years.
“Jaxon, help me understand all of this. Please, I need to know.”
“Libby, what you need to do is get away from me.” His voice was almost incoherent, so thick was the anger and need.
“I just-“
Jaxon exploded into action and was at her side in a second. He leaned down, enjoying the fear that clouded her eyes as she stared back at him. Her body trembled and she shrank from him.
“If you don’t get out of my sight I will do one of two things to you. I will either fuck you until you can’t see anymore, or I will wrap my hands around that lovely, long neck of yours and wring the very last breath you’ll ever breathe from your body.”
Jaxon pulled back from her, his body flushed with fury as he spat at her. “My problem is that I don’t know which one I want to do more.”

Yes indeed, folks it’s official. The second season of True blood kicked off last week and man, it was a sight to behold. My lovely, wonderfully sexy Bill, (looking better than ever I might add) in HD, on a big fracking screen…sigh…what more could a girl want?
AND….spoiler alert……Lafayette is alive….he’s alive…..well, he’s chained up in Eric’s basement….but my fave gay dude is alive and almost well!
What did you all think of the episode? did you love it? Hate it?
This got me to thinking of all the yummy paranormal books I so enjoy and what other ones I’d love to see on the big screen….or little screen depending…….Feehan’s Dark series……would rock…..The Crimson City series of books is one that I loved and that would totally rock too…….what books would you like to see on the telly?
I’m curious!
and now for your veiwing pleasure:
Hey all, I’m over at THE BRADFORD BUNCH today, blogging about time management. How do you all do it? Stop by if you have the time!
Another week has begun and I’m happy to say on a great note! A fellow author who was taken ill, quite suddenly and quite seriously is now on the road to recovery and I couldnt’ be happier for her! Way to go E and man, you need to make the pajama party, whipped cream event at Ann’s in Washington……K?
On a personal note, a few things in no particular order:
Son now has metal on his top teeth. Yep, just today in fact. Now, is it me, or does every other freaking kid have braces? I think I remember one girl in my class who had braces. One. I truly think that now, if you don’t have braces you’re in the minority. Is this just a reflection of the fact that our society wants perfection? Or am I just stupidly handing over my cash? Oh well, the only good thing is that his “girlfriend” has them too, so I’m thinking it makes certain things more complicated. Like getting to first base. At least I hope so.
Happily two of my crit partners are rooming with me in Washington, for sure and for real, and now our fourth is making the trip up to meet us! So very cool and I can’t wait. I also get to have dinner with my agents and fellow BB authors, meet my editor for dinner and drinks….and, hob nob with a lot of very cool people…but, I also get to go to the SPY museum! WOOT! Can’t wait!
I’ve also heard back from my agent in regards to my young adult. Still needs a bit of tweaking but I will get there.
So, other than the fact that schools out in less than two weeks all is right with my world.
A link I think most writers will find interesting:
Lauren Dane has done a three part blog series explaining the differene between print houses and epubs and $$. You can find it HERE.
